Attention design & art majors at Parsons, FIT, Pace, Columbia, Pratt, NYU, and CUNY! Here’s your chance to get your foot in the door at New York City’s lifestyle and nightlife bible! L Magazine provides weekly listings of the latest happenings throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn. What began in a one bedroom Brooklyn apartment of founder and publisher Scott Stedman has grown into a fully staffed editorial outlet now residing in hip and historic DUMBO Brooklyn.

Official Listing (Craigslist.org):

The L Magazine, New York City’s premier pocket-size events guide, is in need of a creative, quick-thinking, design-loving intern to aid our art department. Responsibilities will include: making ads, assisting with layout needs, image researching, photography assignments and website updating (thelmagazine.com). Applicants must have experience working with Adobe Creative Suite on a mac platform (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign). Although not necessary, familiarity with web design, flash, and dreamweaver would be beneficial. Interest in photography and access to a digital camera also preferable.

This unpaid internship requires a commitment of two full days a week for three months.

What to Expect: You are who are your friends are. Based on the surroundings… Think casual, young, trendy and fun. DUMBO has recently been touted as the east coast’s Silicon Valley with tech, web and media companies relocating to the hood for it’s spacious loft office space and art based culture. The neighborhood park even has FREE wi-fi! Local companies are known to take their work out of the office and out onto the park’s lawn. I think you get the idea.
