Blast The Speakers or Rock the Headphones??

Are you allowed to play music at work? What’s the etiquette on choosing the music? How loud is too loud?

Personally as a music lover, my theory is that all bets are off. This definitely walks a fine line and has gotten me yelled at more than a few times, but in the end, I’m always going to end up wanting to hear what I want to hear, and trying to push the limit and play it. If someone really has a problem with it, it shouldn’t be a big deal to just ask someone to change the song, I know I wouldn’t take it personally.

It’s been my experience in offices from the legal field to advertising that music should be played so softly that no one else can hear it or headphones should be used; but every office is different. I like to listen to my music outloud but if there is going to be any controversy then headphones it is!
